Our five favourite 2020 floral trends

As we begin 2020 with a whole new calendar of weddings, it's so exciting to think about the flower arrangements that we'll be creating for couples across Lincolnshire. Today we wanted to share our five favourite floral trends for 2020.

1. Sustainable floristry

Sustainable floristry is definitely on the rise as wedding couples are wanting to keep their floral arrangements eco-friendly and locally grown. Our first step is to use our own grown flowers where possible and also buy from a nearby cutting garden. We will also be using potted plants such as herbs and succulents that can be enjoyed long after the wedding is over. And year on year we are decreasing our use of floral foam in favour of greener alternatives.

2. Fragrance

Fragrance is going to be more popular, which is something we are excited about. It's lovely for a Bride to be able to enjoy a beautiful scent from the flowers and foliage in their bouquet and it will always remind them of their wedding day. Eucalyptus and Rosemary are favourites of ours for this and also David Austin Roses, Freesias and Stocks.

3. Dried flowers

The use of dried flowers allows us to play with a different range of colours and textures that you don't often get from freshly cut. They help to create a vintage feel and last forever which is a real bonus.

4. Colour

This year is going to see a move away from pastels and incorporating more vibrant colours such as jewel tones. Whilst we love a soft, romantic scheme it will be fun to experiment with a richer palette.

5. Non-traditional flowers

Roses and Peonies will always be a classic but we're starting to see more Brides wanting to incorporate more statement blooms in their bouquets. One of our current favourites being the Protea which is so dramatic and photographs beautifully.
